So Miss Zimbabwe 2015 was chosen on 26 April at Mermaids Pool in Shamva.The winning beauty was none other than Miss Emily Kachote, a 25-year old woman who works at Old Mutual as a Financial Advisor, who also happens to have a lot of modeling experience.

Unlike beauty contests in other countries like South Africa where there are hundreds of high quality photos taken by experienced cameramen, there was only one picture of the Miss Zimbabwe Event circulating around the internet, and it was poorly shot and edited. There is no doubt that Emily is a pretty lady but the picture that was taken at the event did not do justice. This was a current event but the picture looked a bit grainy, fuzzy and obviously taken by an outdated camera or unskilled cameramen. Without a doubt, this incident exposed the Event Organizers as people who lack the skills in arranging prestigious events like Miss Zimbabwe. The stage arrangement and lighting was ordinary, miles away from the state-of-the-art techniques and equipment that you would find at MTV shows or Miss SA.

The organizers of the Miss Zimbabwe pageant must pull up their socks and hire professionals who know how to get things done, even if it means outsourcing expertise from overseas. Such an event should be accompanied by glitz, glamour, and most important of all - awesome stage design and stagecraft.
